As of 2025, Royal Caribbean International operates a fleet of 27 total ships with more on the way, including the Star of the Seas, which will launch on August 31, 2025, and two more unnamed Icon Class ships which are expected in 2026 and 2027.
The fleet is divided across seven Royal Caribbean classes: Vision, Radiance, Voyager, Freedom, Oasis, Quantum and Icon. Each class offers a unique experience, from smaller ships that focus on destination immersion, to record-breaking mega-ships that offer endless onboard thrills.
When you cruise with Royal Caribbean, you’re in for a holiday that’s anything but ordinary. From the moment you step on board, you’ll be surrounded by opportunities for action, adventure and entertainment. Whether you’re racing down waterslides, catching a Broadway-style show or unwinding by the pool with a cocktail in hand, there’s always something to do, or not do.
Spend your days exploring the ship’s vibrant neighbourhoods. Wander through the leafy Central Park and stop to admire the gardens with a glass of wine. Take a climb up one of the rock-climbing walls to reach unbeatable views over the sparkling ocean or settle down with a book in a quiet library. If you’re thinking about bringing the kids (or grandkids), you’ll be particularly thrilled by the vast collection of pools, waterslides and casual eateries.
You can choose from a huge range of dining options, from laidback cafes to specialty restaurants serving everything from sushi to steak. There’s something to suit every taste, and plenty that’s included in your fare. At night, the ship comes alive with live music, theatre, comedy shows and nightlife venues. Catch a spectacular high-diving show at the AquaTheater or see which Broadway-style musical is featured on your ship.
Families love the kid-friendly spaces, teens get their own hangouts, and adults can escape to quiet lounges, spas and adults-only areas. Accommodation ranges from comfortable interior staterooms to luxury suites with ocean views and exclusive perks. The onboard environment is active and social, making Royal Caribbean the ideal cruise line for travellers who enjoy a dynamic and energetic holiday experience.
Royal Caribbean is one of the best cruise lines for families, with ships offering kid-friendly attractions, family-focused entertainment, casual dining options and dedicated children’s programs. While nearly all Royal Caribbean ships cater to families, the bigger Oasis Class and Icon Class ships offer the most exciting experiences for kids of all ages.
Oasis Class ships are packed with family features. They include age-specific Adventure Ocean kids’ clubs, stay-and-play programs for babies and toddlers, and teen hangouts with activities like trivia, movie nights, discos and karaoke. Onboard attractions include rock climbing walls, splash parks, theatres, video arcades and laser tag, as well as quieter spots like libraries and theatres. Oasis Class ships also offer family-friendly staterooms for added comfort.
Icon Class ships take family cruising to the next level. Designed specifically with young families in mind, the Icon Class introduced Surfside, an all-new neighbourhood for young families. Surfside features a splash area with junior waterslides, a dry play area, an arcade, family dining venues and even a mocktail bar for kids and parents to share a refreshing beverage. It is also conveniently close to the kids’ club on the deck below and offers dedicated family-friendly cabins and suites.
