Welcome to Canada! On arrival at Vancouver International Airport, make your own way to your hotel. Getting into the city is easy and convenient, with taxis, shuttles and the Canada Line SkyTrain connecting directly to downtown Vancouver.

The remainder of the day is yours to relax or begin uncovering the city at your own pace.

Please note: Hotel check-in is from 3:00pm. Airport transfers are not included. Due to flight schedules, some travellers may depart Australia the day prior on an overnight flight.

Vancouver Free Day 

Today is free for you to further explore Vancouver. You may choose to arrange locally an optional day trip to Victoria by floatplane to visit the famous Butchart Gardens, or head to North Vancouver to discover local markets and one of the city’s fastest-growing culinary precincts.

Vancouver - Whistler

After breakfast and hotel check-out, travel by coach with your Tour Guide along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway. En route, pass Shannon Falls and the historic town of Squamish before visiting the iconic Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Continue to Whistler, where you’ll enjoy an orientation tour of the village. Nestled between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, this world-famous alpine resort is a lively, pedestrian-friendly village filled with restaurants, shops and cafés.

Whistler Dog Sledding

Today is a highlight of your Whistler stay. Set off on an unforgettable dog sledding experience through the forests of the Callaghan Valley. Led by a professional musher, you’ll learn how the dogs are harnessed and guided before enjoying the thrill of gliding through snowy trails.

There are plenty of opportunities for photos, and time to take in the pristine winter scenery. Guests not participating in dog sledding will enjoy a day at leisure (alternative scheduling may apply).

Please note: Dog sledding is a shared experience with a maximum weight per sled of 350lb (158kg). Guests should dress accordingly to the winter weather and in their own snow gear if possible.

Whistler Free Day

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Whistler, one of Canada’s most iconic alpine resort towns. You may choose to explore the pedestrian village, relax in a cosy café, browse boutique shops, or sample local dining.

For those seeking adventure, optional activities include gondola rides for panoramic mountain views, skiing or snowboarding on world-class slopes, snowshoeing trails, or simply soaking up the alpine atmosphere surrounded by snow-covered peaks.

Whistler - Whitehorse - Northern Lights 

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Vancouver Airport for your flight to Whitehorse (please refer to your e-ticket for flight details).

On arrival, you’ll be met by a local representative and transferred to your hotel. This evening marks your first opportunity to witness the magical Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

Departing around 10:00pm, travel to a prime viewing location where snacks and hot drinks are provided. Relax in a heated cabin or tent as you watch the night sky come alive with shimmering colours before returning to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse at approximately 2:30am.

Please note: Winter clothing rental is provided, however you are encouraged to bring warm, layered clothing including thermals, wool or fleece.

Weather: The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is a natural phenomenon and sightings depend on weather conditions and solar activity. This region offers wonderful opportunities to experience the Northern Lights, however sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Ice Fishing & Snowshoeing

Join a guided city tour and discover the historic highlights of Whitehorse, a former gold rush town framed by mountain scenery. Visit key landmarks including the Visitor Information Centre, Old Log Church, SS Klondike and Main Street.

In the afternoon, venture out for an Ice Fishing and Snowshoeing experience on a frozen lake. Snowshoe through the tranquil Yukon wilderness before trying your hand at ice fishing. Hot drinks are provided, and if you’re lucky enough to catch a trout, your guide may prepare it over an open fire.

Return to Whitehorse in the late afternoon, with time to rest and warm up before heading out this evening for another guided opportunity to view the Aurora Borealis (weather and solar activity permitting).

Whitehorse Free Day (Optional Tour)

Today is at leisure, allowing you time to relax or take part in an optional excursion. This evening, you will again have the opportunity to view the Aurora Borealis, with access to a dedicated viewing area featuring a bonfire, hot drinks and light winter activities while waiting for the lights to appear.

Optional Tour: Yukon Wildlife & Hot Springs Tour ($299 AUD pp)

Visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve to see native wildlife in a natural setting, including moose, musk ox, woodland caribou and bison. The day concludes with a relaxing soak at Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, an outdoor geothermal sanctuary surrounded by snow-covered landscapes.

Depart Whitehorse to Vancouver

Our multi-stop Canada tours are carefully designed to give an insight into the highlights, culture and unique beauty of each region. Each day will be different, with a combination of travel days, sightseeing and free time to explore or take a breather as you wish.

Tipping (Gratuities) in Canada
Although tipping is not mandatory, it is a customary practice in North America and represents an important part of remuneration within service trades. While gratuities are at the discretion of each passenger below are customary guidelines for providing gratuities:

  • Tour Leader: $5 CAD per person per day
  • Driver: $5 CAD per person per day
  • Local Guides: $3 CAD per person per day

Visa requirement for Canada

Airport Transfers
Airport transfers in Vancouver are not included on this tour. Airport transfers in Whitehorse Yukon are included as part of the Aurora viewing package.

Baggage
Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on tour, superseding any other baggage allowance. This is due to internal flight policies and coach requirements.

A single supplement starts from $2,000 per person is payable in addition to the twin share price for solo occupancy. Please note there are a limited number of solo rooms available per departure. The single supplement may vary per departure date.

Northern Lights Viewing
The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is a natural phenomenon and, as such, visibility cannot be guaranteed. Viewing conditions depend on weather, cloud cover and solar activity, which are outside our control. This tour includes multiple opportunities to view the Northern Lights; however, no refunds or compensation will apply if sightings are limited or do not occur.

Dog Sledding Experience
The dog sledding experience is subject to safety and operational requirements, including a maximum weight limit of 350lb (158kg) per sled. Guests will be required to share sleds. Participation is at the discretion of the operator and guide instructions must be followed at all times. No refunds or compensation apply if participation is not possible due to safety or operational reasons.

Winter Clothing Rental
As winter clothing rental is included during your 3 night stay in Whitehorse, we will require your clothing size at time of booking. Please advise of your preferred clothing size using the format: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL

Exclusions
Airport transfers, meals not stated, beverages, optional sightseeing, travel insurance (strongly recommended), Canada ETA (Visa), tipping, personal expenses and anything not explicitly specified are at your own expense.

Payment
A first deposit from $499 per person is required to secure your booking. A second deposit (partial payment) is due 10 months before departure – the amount to be advised at the time of booking. The final balance will be due 5 months before departure. Full payment is due at the time of booking for departures within 5 months.

Fitness & Winter Conditions
A moderate level of fitness is required to participate in this tour. You must be able to move about unassisted, including boarding and disembarking coaches, flights and other forms of transport, walking up and down stairs, and navigating occasional uneven or sloping terrain. Short walks may be required between transport and accommodation, which may not always allow door-to-door access. This tour is not suitable for travellers requiring a wheelchair, mobility scooter or specialised mobility facilities. Other walking aids may be permitted, provided you are able to move independently and keep pace with the group.
This tour operates during the winter season. Many activities and sightseeing areas involve walking on snow-covered or icy surfaces, which can be slippery underfoot. While winter outerwear is provided in Whitehorse, travellers should bring warm, sturdy footwear and appropriate layered clothing to ensure comfort, stability and personal safety in cold conditions.

Pace
This is a moderate-paced winter tour. Days involve sightseeing, city walking, and transfers between regions by coach. Expect some early starts and long travel periods.

Tipping (Gratuities) in Canada
Although tipping is not mandatory, it is a customary practice in North America and represents an important part of remuneration within service trades. Tips reflect your satisfaction about the services received throughout your stay. While gratuities are at the discretion of each passenger below are customary guidelines for providing gratuities:

Triple Share
Triple share is not available.

Extra Accommodation
Unfortunately, pre and post group tour accommodation is not available. You may wish to book your own pre and post tour accommodation. The group hotels are finalised no later than 30 days prior to departure.

Child
This tour is best enjoyed to adult travellers and is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Children 12 years and above are subject to the adult price and must be accompanied by an adult.

Price
Surcharges may apply for select travel periods and departure cities. Prices are correct at time of publication and are subject to availability, change, cancellation or withdrawal without notice. All prices are in Australian dollars per person twin share unless stated otherwise.

Amendment
Changes for any reason will incur a fee of $110 per person per change in addition to any travel service provider fees.

Cancellation
Cancellation for any reason will incur a fee of $550 per person in addition to any travel service provider fees. Travel service provider fees for the tour and air components of the package are dependent on the date of the change or cancellation as follows:

  • 0-29 days before departure 100% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply
  • 30-60 days before departure 65% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply
  • 61-99 days before departure 50% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply
  • 100-180 days before departure 30% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply
  • 181+ days before departure 10% of the tour fee and 100% of the air fee will apply

Airfares are generally non-refundable but any refundable ticket taxes will be returned. Full details of the change and cancellation fees is outlined in the Terms & Conditions available on our website

Passport
For international travel, each customer must provide a copy of the passport photo page at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all names are full names exactly matched to the passport with six months validity beyond trip completion. The customer is liable for all fees due to incorrect names, invalid passport information and expired passports.

Canada Visa (ETA)
Please note that Canada has an electronic travel authorization (ETA), which requires all international visitors to register online before traveling to Canada. This registration procedure assists travelers in processing required documents while determining their eligibility to travel to international destinations. Registration for the ETA program is now mandatory for all international travelers wishing to travel to Canada. USA Visa (ESTA)
**Please note this 10 Day itinerary does not visit USA therefore an ESTA is not required**
In the event you are deviating, stopping in USA or extending then you will require a USA ESTA. All eligible travellers who wish to travel to the United States must request permission and pay fees according to an established process. Health
It is the responsibility of the customer to check and comply with the health, vaccination, COVID-19 and immigration requirements of each origin and destination country, and health requirements imposed by air, tour, cruise and accommodation providers. Vaccinations, testing and quarantine costs are the expense of the customer. Comprehensive travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage is strongly recommended. Drink only bottled water with intact seals.

Money
The currency in Canada is Canadian Dollars. ATMs are widely available in most cities. They accept major credit cards including at international hotels and restaurants. In some smaller cities, using international cards will be limited and local currency is suggested.

Baggage
Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on tour, superseding any other baggage allowance. One of the reasons is due to coach requirements and limitation. All porterage is not included, and you are required to carry your own bags. Luggage and personal effects are your own risk, and we hold no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

Meals
Meals are not included in this tour, with the exception of one breakfast and one dinner, which are provided. All other meals will be at your own expense.

Accommodation
All accommodation featured in this itinerary is based on 3-3.5 star hotels. Please note many hotels in Canada are either self-rated or locally rated. All hotel rooms will feature either a twin room (two single beds) or a double room (1 Queen bed). All bedding requests cannot be guaranteed however all special requests should be made known at time of booking. All rooms are lead-in category or run of house unless otherwise specified. Hotel names mentioned are indicative and subject to change based, with final group tour hotels being confirmed on your final documentation. The standard check-in time is from 3pm and check-out is prior to 10am.

Flights
Flights are booked approximately 8 to 10 months prior to departure. The international flights included in your package are based on Fiji Airways or a similar full-service carrier with a specific predetermined airfare allowance. The internal flights are based on Air North. Should there be a significant increase in airfares, fuel levies, taxes or government fees at the time of booking flights, then an airfare supplement may be imposed. The flights team will discuss options with you prior to ticketing, should this situation arise. Flights may not operate daily or directly to your destination. No show of any flight sectors will result in the automatic cancellation of all onward flights by the airline.

Northern Lights Viewing
The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is a natural phenomenon and, as such, visibility cannot be guaranteed. Viewing conditions depend on weather, cloud cover and solar activity, which are outside our control. This tour includes multiple opportunities to view the Northern Lights; however, no refunds or compensation will apply if sightings are limited or do not occur.

Dog Sledding Experience
The dog sledding experience is subject to safety and operational requirements, including maximum weight limits per sled. Guests may be required to share sleds. Group size
You will meet like-minded travellers on tour and may even make lifelong friends. This holiday will proceed with a group size based on a minimum 20 passengers and a maximum group size of approximately 35 passengers. If the tour does not operate, you will be offered a credit.

Itinerary
The operating schedule and itinerary may be impacted without notice by adverse weather, seasonal factors, closures, local conditions, COVID-19 or other factors beyond our control including force majeure. The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed appropriate by the operator for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation. Any reference to ‘optional’, ‘not included’ or ‘exclusions/excluded’ means at your own expense.

Breakaway
Customers must remain with the tour group at all times and must not leave the tour unless written approval is provided before departure.

Documentation
Final documentation will be emailed no later than 4 weeks prior to departure.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is not included and is strongly recommended. Ask our holiday experts for great coverage options.

Force Majeure
Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control. In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, the supplier reserves the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
