*Aitutaki Day Tour
No visit to the Cook Islands is complete without a trip across to the magical island of Aitutaki. This multi award winning destination, recently taking ‘Oceania’s Leading Island Destination 2022’ award by World Travel Awards, is renowned not only for its vast turquoise lagoon, but also for its colourful coral, tropical fish, sea turtles and long sandy beaches.
If you are unable to spend a couple nights on Aitutaki, then the Aitutaki Day Tour will have you experiencing the beauty of this island paradise in just a day.

Pick-up from your hotel on Rarotonga commences from 7am, then it’s on to the domestic airport for your 8am departure and 50 minute flight to Aitutaki.

During your flight, complimentary coffee, tea and water is served. As you begin to descend through the fresh morning clouds, take in the breath-taking views of Aitutaki’s tiny islets (motus) scattered like pearls within its spectacular lagoon.

On arrival, you are met by your host and tour guide for the day, and taken on a tour of Aitutaki’s main island, before boarding your 70 foot traditionally designed catamaran ‘Vaka Titi-Ai-Tonga’.

Your lagoon experience begins with a slow cruise across many shades of blue to Motu Akaiami, where in the 1950s the Solent Flying boats of the Coral Route would stop to refuel. Following Akaiami is a short visit to Motu Rakau, the location of several U.S. TV series, including ‘Shipwrecked’ and ‘Survivor Cook Islands’.

Your cruise then continues to a protected marine reserve. Here, enjoy the opportunity to explore the lagoon, swim with tropical fish and see the giant clams.

As you make your way to One Foot Island, a freshly prepared BBQ Fish lunch is served before arriving to One Foot Island, the only uninhabited islet in the world with a registered Post Office – take your passport with you and for a small fee you can get a little quirky One Foot Island souvenir stamp. Go ahead, explore the island, swim some more, sunbathe or take a stroll through the lagoon across to the sand banks for more picture-perfect moments.

Following your visit to One Foot Island, you will slowly make your way back to the main island and the airport for your return flight to Rarotonga at 4:40pm.

Undoubtedly the South Pacific’s best kept secret. A lagoon of many shades of blue and
many uninhabited islets to explore. Spectacular snorkelling. White sand beaches. It is an
absolute experience to enjoy aboard the traditionally designed Vaka Titi-Ai-Tonga.

Mouth watering BBQ Fish Lunch
Freshly caught barbequed fish, served alongside seasonal tropical fruit, salads prepared
from locally grown organic vegetables, and freshly baked bread. A cash bar is available
onboard during the cruise, serving a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Cancellation Charges
Please note, cancelled bookings will incur charges. Our travel service providers are entitled to impose cancellation charges, which can be up to 100% of the amount paid to them for the relevant service, regardless of whether travel has commenced.
