Arrive Delhi

Welcome to India!  On arrival in New Delhi airport, meet your local tour leader with a transfer to your hotel.  Our tour leader will accompany you on this incredible adventure for the next 11 days.

Old and New Delhi (B)

After breakfast spend a full day exploring the bustling old town with a rickashaw ride in Chandi Chowk and seeing the grand architecture of New Delhi. Drive by parliament buidlings and India Gate memorial. This includes a visit to the stunning medieval Qutb Minar and Humayun’s Tomb one of first and beautiful garden tombs.  At the end of the day finish at Connaughts Place, in the heart of New Delhi.

Delhi to Agra (B,D) (approx 220 kms)

Start the day with a drive through the beautiful countryside and villages to Agra. During your tour visit the red sandstone Agra Fort, standing like a crescent on the banks of Jamuna River. Then visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, built in the middle of the 17th century by the Moghul emperor for his wife. Tonight, be treated to dinner at the hotel’s rooftop Mughal dining room.

Agra to Ranthambore (B,L,D) (approx 280 kms)

This morning drive to Ranthambore National Park, stopping to wander the deserted plazas and streets of Fatephur Sikri, built in the 15th century and abandoned within 20 years due to a lack of the water. The ornate buildings and palaces are remarkably well preserved, offering a somewhat eerie insight into the grandeur of the Mughal Empire at its peak.  Continue to Ranthambore, a reserve famous for its tiger populuation where we will stay for 2 nights.

Ranthambore (B,L,D)

Early morning rise to start our jeep safari with the possibility of spotting tigers. Keep your eyes peeled for these majestic creatures strolling in the jungle or near any of the local lakes on our morning and afternoon safaris. The park is also home to many colourful birds as well as deer, gazelle, monkeys and more.  There will also be time to explore the local bazaar in the nearby town of Sawai Madhopur.

Ranthambore -Jaipur (B) (180 kms)

Depart for Jaipur after breakfast this morning and arrive in time for lunch. Jaipur was painted terracotta pink in 1876 to celebrate the visit of the Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria to the city.  In the afternoon visit the beautifully ornate City Palace, including the seven storied Chandra Mahal (Moon Palace), the remarkable astronomical observatory and zenana mahals (harems). This evening there is free time to visit the local bazaars for souvenirs in the vibrant lanes of the pink city.  Stay in Jaipur for 2 nights.

Jaipur (B,L)

After breakfast this morning, visit the majestic Amber Fort, rising steeply along the hillside. Built in the 16th century by Rajput Kings from pale yellow and pink sandstone and white marble.  The fort is still well preserved to explore the large ramparts, series of gates, cobbled paths and glittering mirrors.  After a special local lunch, the rest of the day is free to explore the colourful town at your own pace.

Jaipur - Jodhpur (B) (approx 334 kms)

Today after breakfast is one of the longest travel days to Jodphur, but well worth the time to see one the most photogenic cities. Dotted with hundreds of houses painted bright shades of blue, bustling spice bazaars, coloured saris, and the impressive fort overlooking the city, its a beautiful sight and colourful city.  After a rest at your hotel, visit the city center and saadar market, making your way back on a walking heritage tour of the blue city.

Jodphur - Udaipur (B) (245 kms)

Start the day with a visit to the mighty Merangarah Fort.  Built around 1460 the fort stands 400 feet above the blue city skyline.  With a sheer drop down, the cliff sides are  chiselled flat to make them unscalable and cast an impressive sight on the hilltop.  Continue driving through valleys in the remote and peaceful Aravalli Range to visit Ranakpur; one of the most important Jain temples in India. This stunning 15th century marble complex is comprised of halls supported by 1,444 pillars, each adorned with hundreds of beautifully carved figures, no two alike.  Our final stop is Udaipur, the city of lakes. Check into your hotel for a 2 night stay.

Udaipur (B)

During a guided visit the City Palace, made up of eleven palaces overlooking the sprawling, Lake Pichola. One of the largest, most beautiful palaces in the state of Rajasthan, it is now a museum, royal residence and a luxury hotel. This intricately designed monument is an architectural wonder in granite and marble. Near the palace we visit Jagdish Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In the evening we relax on our final night and enjoy the peaceful Lake Pichola on a sunset cruise.

Udaipur - Delhi - Depart for Australia (B)

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, followed by a transfer included to the aiport. Fly Udaipur to Delhi and connect on your flight home to Australia.

Exclusions

Meals not stated, drinks on meals, optional programs, visas (if required), travel insurance (strongly recommended), tipping, personal expenses and anything not explicitly specified on your itinerary – are at your own expense.

Payment

A first deposit from $499 per person is required to secure your booking. A second deposit (partial payment) is due 12 months before departure – the amount to be advised at the time of booking. The final balance will be due 5 months before departure. Full payment is due at the time of booking for departures within 5 months.

Fitness

A moderate level of fitness is required. You are required to move about unassisted, including getting on and off coaches, walking up and down flights of stairs, and navigating uneven or cobbled streets or steep terrain. This trip is not suitable for travellers requiring wheelchair, mobility scooters or facilities for disabled guests. Other walking aids may be permitted if you are able move about unassisted at the required pace. For advice on whether this trip is suitable for you, you are required to disclose physical ailments at the time of booking.

Pace

The pace of this tour is leisurely. The on-the-go nature of this trip rewards you with maximum sightseeing opportunities but involves early starts and a couple of long travel days – see the itinerary for distances travelled. One to two nights at each destination is standard.

A single supplement from $700 per person is payable in addition to the twin share price for solo occupancy.

Extra Accommodation

Pre or post tour accommodation for one or two people in Delhi with breakfast, in the same tour hotel or similar area, can be added with rates from $150 per night, subject to availability. Transfers are not included for extended stays

Child

This tour is best enjoyed by adult travellers and is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Children 12 years and above are subject to the adult price and must be accompanied by an adult.

Price

Surcharges may apply for select travel periods and departure cities. Prices are correct at time of publication and are subject to availability, change, cancellation or withdrawal without notice. All prices are in Australian dollars per person twin share unless stated otherwise.

Amendment

Each amendment is subject to a fee from $75 per person. Additional fees and fare differences from third-party suppliers including air, tour, cruise and accommodation providers may apply.

Cancellation

Cancellation at anytime is subject to a fee from $550 per person. Additional fees and fare differences from third-party suppliers including air, tour, cruise and accommodation providers may apply.

Deviation

Any request to deviate from the original dates or routing, including early arrival and stay behind, is subject to a flight deviation fee from $150 per person plus applicable airfare and tax difference. Packaged tour extensions are not subject to the deviation fee (applicable airfare and tax difference may still apply) if booked according to the original advertised dates and routing.

Passport

For international travel, each customer must provide a copy of the passport photo page at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all names are full names exactly matched to the passport with six months validity beyond trip completion. The customer is liable for all fees due to incorrect names, invalid passport information and expired passports.

Visa

Tourist visas are required for Australian and most other nationalities travelling to India.

Passports, visas and vaccinations are your responsibility to check and obtain.
Each traveller’s full name as per a valid passport is required for issuing tickets.

Health

It is the responsibility of the customer to check and comply with the health, vaccination, COVID-19 and immigration requirements of each origin and destination country, and health requirements imposed by air, tour, cruise and accommodation providers. Vaccinations, testing and quarantine costs are the expense of the customer. Comprehensive travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage is strongly recommended.

Baggage

Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on the coach tour, superseding any other baggage allowance. Excess baggage is not permitted. You are strongly encouraged to pack lightly. A light day bag or backpack is permitted on the coach. Porterage is not included and you are required to carry your own bags. Luggage and personal effects are your own risk and we hold no liability for lost or damaged belongings.

Meals

Please notify us at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements and allergies. We will pass on your requirements but cannot guarantee that they can be met as certain choices may be limited or not catered for. You are encouraged to reconfirm requirements with your tour leader whilst on tour.

Accommodation

A range of accommodation styles including hotels, resorts and lodges are carefully selected to suit the prevailing size of the group. Accommodation names referenced are to be used as an indicative guide for the standard of accommodation to expect. Actual accommodation names may differ and will be confirmed on your final documentation. All hotel ratings are local or self-ratings provided by the supplier. All rooms are lead-in category or run of house unless otherwise specified. The standard check-in time is after 3pm and check-out is before 10am – actual times may vary.

Tipping

Tipping is recommended and appreciated in India and part of their culture for good service.
Budget (approx. AUD$5-10) per person per day for drivers, guides and service people.

Flights

The outbound flight may depart one day prior to day 1 shown on the itinerary. The inbound flight may arrive one day after the final day shown on the itinerary. Flights are booked approximately 8 to 10 months prior to departure. The flights included in your package are based on a specific predetermined airfare allowance. Should there be a significant increase in airfares, fuel levies, taxes or government fees at the time of booking flights, then an airfare supplement may be imposed. The flights team will discuss options with you prior to ticketing, should this situation arise. Flights may not operate daily or directly to your destination. No show of any flight sectors will result in the automatic cancellation of all onward flights by the airline.

Fuel

In the unlikely event of a significant increase in fuel costs levied by third-party air, land and cruise transportation operators before travel, a fuel supplement may be passed on to the customer.

Transfers

Transfers may operate at designated times and may be group or independent services using private or public transportation. You may be required to make your own way (at your own expense) to the transfer point.

Group Size

To enjoy a group tour this will operate with a minimum number of passengers.  If the trip does not operate, you will be offered a credit. Optional programs may require minimum numbers to operate.

Itinerary

The operating schedule and itinerary may be impacted without notice by adverse weather, seasonal factors, closures, local conditions, COVID-19 or other factors beyond our control including force majeure. If attractions are not available due to reasons beyond our control such as closures or adverse weather, alternatives will be provided where possible. The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed appropriate by the operator for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation. Any reference to ‘optional’, ‘not included’ or ‘exclusions/excluded’ means at your own expense.

Breakaway

Customers must remain with the tour group at all times and must not leave the tour unless written approval is provided before departure.

Documentation

Final documentation will be emailed within two weeks of departure. For packages consisting of multiple tours or countries, documentation will be emailed individually within two weeks of departure of each respective tour.

Force Majeure

Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control. In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, the supplier reserves the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
